Roasted Garlic Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

The spread

  • 1 medium head garlic
  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter

The sandwich

  • 4 slices crusty bread
  • ½ cup shredded cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the panini press or a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Mash the roasted garlic cloves and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Butter one side of two slices of bread and place them on the press or skillet.
  4. Top each slice with ¼ cup of cheese.
  5. Spread the bottom of the remaining bread slices with the mashed roasted garlic and press onto the cheese.
  6. Butter the top of each sandwich.
  7. Cook for about 5 minutes on the panini press or 3-4 minutes on each side in the skillet until browned.
