Ingredients

The hummus

  • cups cooked chickpeas
  • cup smooth tahini
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 5 tablespoons water

For garnish and serving

  • to taste paprika
  • to taste red pepper flakes
  • to taste fresh parsley
  • as needed warm pita bread
  • as needed veggies

Instructions

  1. In a high-speed blender, combine chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt.
  2. Blend until very smooth, adding water as needed to achieve desired consistency.
  3. Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with paprika, red pepper flakes, and/or fresh parsley.
  4. Serve with warm pita and veggies.
