Ingredients

  • 1 15 oz. can chickpeas
  • cup tahini
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon fine salt
  • 3 to 5 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Drain and rinse the chickpeas, then add them to a food processor.
  2. Mince the garlic and mix it with lemon juice in a small bowl, letting it rest.
  3. Blend the chickpeas, garlic and lemon mixture, tahini, cumin, olive oil, salt, and water until smooth.
  4. Adjust the seasoning to taste, adding more lemon juice or tahini if desired.
  5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and garnish with olive oil and paprika.
  6. Serve with pita bread, veggies, or crackers.
