Ingredients

The base

  • 1 link Italian sausage
  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • ½ cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 ½ cup Shredded Mozzarella cheese (divided use)
  • ¾ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon Fennel seed, crushed
  • 1 cup Rao's Arrabiata Sauce

The toppings

  • 3 tablespoon Green bell pepper, finely diced
  • 3 tablespoon Onion, minced
  • 2 tablespoon Black olives, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and position the rack in the middle.
  2. Remove the sausage from its casing and brown it in a frying pan, breaking it into small crumbles. Drain on paper towels and let cool.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese and mayonnaise until well combined. Add the Italian seasoning, crushed fennel seed, and ⅓ of each type of cheese, stirring to combine.
  4. Spread the cream cheese mixture into the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Spread ½ cup of the Arrabiata sauce over the cream cheese layer.
  6. Sprinkle half of the sausage, onion, green bell pepper, and black olives on top, followed by half of the remaining cheese.
  7. Add the rest of the sauce, the remaining cheese, and top with the remaining sausage and vegetables.
  8. Bake for 20-30 minutes until bubbly and hot, or microwave covered with cling film for about 5 minutes.
