Ingredients

The dip

  • 1 15-ounce can black eyed peas, drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons tahini
  • 1 lemon juiced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Garnish (optional)

  • to taste chili oil
  • to taste chopped parsley
  • to taste additional Cajun seasoning

Instructions

  1. Combine black eyed peas, garlic, Cajun seasoning, salt, black pepper, tahini, and lemon juice in a food processor or blender.
  2. Process until smooth and creamy, adding olive oil and reserved liquid as needed for desired texture.
  3. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with chili oil, parsley, and Cajun seasoning if desired.
  4. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
