Apple, Cheddar, Bacon & Arugula Grilled Cheese

Ingredients

The sandwich

  • 4 slices Sourdough Bread
  • 3 tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 6 strips Crispy, Thick-Cut Bacon
  • 1 medium Fuji Apple, thinly sliced

The arugula mixture

  • 1 cup Arugula
  • 1 tsp Olive Oil
  • ¼ tsp Flaky Sea Salt
  • ¼ tsp Freshly Cracked Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. Toss arugula, olive oil, salt, and pepper together in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Place one slice of bread in the skillet, butter side down, and sprinkle ¼ cup of cheddar on top.
  5. Lay three slices of bacon on the cheddar, followed by half of the arugula.
  6. Sprinkle another ¼ cup of cheddar over the arugula and top with another slice of bread, butter side up.
  7. Press down on the sandwich and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  8. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 2-3 minutes until browned and cheese is melted.
  9. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make the second sandwich.
  10. Slice both sandwiches in half and serve hot.
