Ingredients

The pasta

  • 8 oz thin spaghetti

The flavorings

  • 1 fresh lemon
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt

The fats and cheese

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp grated Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of water and cook the pasta until tender, then drain.
  2. While the pasta cooks, zest the lemon and chop the parsley, mixing them with Parmesan and pepper in a bowl.
  3. In the same pot, sauté minced garlic in olive oil until fragrant.
  4. Add the drained pasta and butter to the pot, tossing to coat.
  5. Mix in the parsley and Parmesan mixture, then squeeze lemon juice over the pasta and season with salt.
  6. Toss everything together, taste, and adjust seasoning as needed before serving warm.
