Ingredients

  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1 unit vanilla bean
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 4 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or white chocolate baking bars

Instructions

  1. Heat 3 ½ cups of milk, the seeds and pod of the vanilla bean, and a pinch of salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat until it simmers.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the remaining ½ cup of milk and the cornstarch until well blended.
  3. Once the milk mixture is simmering, add the cornstarch mixture and let it simmer for 1 minute, whisking constantly until lightly thickened.
  4. Remove from heat, add the white chocolate chips, and whisk until melted. Remove the vanilla bean pod.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving with desired toppings.
