Banana Oatmeal

Instructions
- 1. Bring water and milk to a boil in a medium saucepan.
- 2. Reduce heat to medium low and stir in oats, buttermilk, mashed banana, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- 3. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and optional butter or cream.
- 5. Cover and let rest for 3 minutes.
- 6. Serve warm topped with optional chopped pecans.
- 7. For microwave method, combine all ingredients in a large microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 3 ½ minutes, then let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
