Instructions
- Make the dough by mixing all dough ingredients in a stand mixer or by hand until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for about 60 minutes until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into four pieces and let them rest for 15 minutes.
- Roll each piece into a 10-inch circle and layer them with egg wash, spiced sugar, cranberries, and almonds.
- Cut the layered dough into 16 strips, leaving the center intact.
- Twist pairs of strips to form points of an 8-point star.
- Cover and let the star rise for about 45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven and bake for 14 to 16 minutes until golden brown.
