Ingredients

The latkes

  • 1 pound russet potatoes
  • ¼ pound onion
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • to taste none oil (optional for frying)

To serve

  • to taste none sour cream
  • to taste none apple sauce

Instructions

  1. Grate the potatoes and onion, then dry them thoroughly with a towel.
  2. Mix the dry shredded potatoes and onion with the other ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Form the mixture into patties, keeping them on the thinner side for crispiness.
  4. Grill the patties on a hot pan for 6-7 minutes on each side, optionally adding oil for a crispier texture.
  5. Serve with your choice of toppings.
