The main ingredient
Instructions
- Combine oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper in a plastic bag.
- Pat the tri-tip dry and score the fat layer.
- Add the tri-tip to the bag, coat it with the marinade, and marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Let the tri-tip sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before grilling.
- Preheat the grill over high heat for 10 minutes and clean the grate.
- Grill the tri-tip over direct heat for 3 to 4 minutes per side until browned.
- Move the tri-tip to indirect heat and cook to desired doneness (20 to 30 minutes).
- Let the tri-tip rest for 10 to 15 minutes before slicing against the grain.
