Ham and Cheese Sliders

Ingredients

The sliders

  • 12 pieces square soft white dinner rolls
  • 6 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 12 slices Deli ham
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

The sauce

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and slice the rolls in half horizontally.
  2. Spread 4 tablespoons of mustard on the cut sides of the rolls and place the bottoms in a baking dish.
  3. Fold the ham and Swiss cheese and place them on the roll bottoms, seasoning with black pepper.
  4. In a bowl, mix melted butter, onion, poppy seeds, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and remaining mustard.
  5. Brush the mixture over the sandwiches and let them absorb the sauce for about 10 minutes.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 7 to 9 minutes until cheese is melted.
  7. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
