Whole Chicken in a Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole onion
  • 4 pounds whole chicken

Instructions

  1. Chop the onion and place it in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Combine the spices in a small bowl.
  3. Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, including inside the cavity.
  4. Place the chicken breast side down on top of the onions in the slow cooker.
  5. Cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours or on low for 7 to 8 hours until the chicken is tender.
