Instructions
- Coat the outside of each pepper with olive oil.
- For the gas burner method, turn the burner on high and place the oiled pepper on top, turning it until all sides are blackened.
- Place the blackened pepper in a heat-proof container with a lid for about 15 minutes to trap steam.
- Once cooled, peel off the skin, remove the stem and seeds, and slice as desired.
- For the broiler method, place oiled peppers on a foil-covered baking sheet and broil, turning until all sides are blackened.
- Again, place the blackened peppers in a covered dish to cool, then peel, remove stems and seeds, and slice.
