Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 1 tea bag tea bag (or 1 teaspoon loose-leaf tea) per 6 to 8 ounces of water

Optional Add-ins

  • to taste sliced lemon
  • to taste sweetener of choice
  • to taste fresh mint leaves
  • to taste sliced cucumber

Instructions

  1. If using tea bags, snip off the corners and pour the loose tea into a pitcher or use the whole bags.
  2. Pour in room temperature or cold water.
  3. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate, steeping white or green tea for 6 to 8 hours and black or oolong tea for 8 to 12 hours.
  4. After steeping, strain the tea through a fine mesh sieve or remove the tea bags.
  5. Serve the tea as is or with any desired add-ins. The tea can be stored covered in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days.
