Ingredients

Crumb Topping

  • cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • cup all-purpose flour

Muffins

  • 1 and ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon ground allspice
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup packed light or dark brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup plain yogurt or sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1 and ¾ cups peeled, chopped peaches

Vanilla Icing (Optional)

  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and prepare a muffin pan.
  2. Mix the crumb topping ingredients until crumbly and set aside.
  3. Whisk together the dry ingredients for the muffins in a bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugars, then add the eggs, yogurt, and vanilla.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients, then fold in the chopped peaches.
  6. Fill the muffin cups with batter and add the crumb topping.
  7. Bake at 425°F for 5 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F and bake for an additional 16-19 minutes.
  8. Cool the muffins before serving and optionally drizzle with icing.
