Ingredients

The filling

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ cup sliced mushrooms
  • 14.5 oz canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic

The rolls

  • 12 count Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

The seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried minced onions
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet, breaking it into small crumbles and seasoning with spices and garlic.
  2. Add mushrooms, diced tomatoes, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and half the cheddar cheese to the beef mixture and cook until done.
  3. Drain excess fat from the beef and pat it dry.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and place the bottom half in a baking dish.
  6. Spread the beef mixture over the bottom rolls and top with the remaining cheese.
  7. Place the top half of the rolls over the beef mixture.
  8. Mix melted butter and sesame seeds, then brush over the top of the rolls.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted.
