Cheeseburger Sliders

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • ½ white onion diced
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 9 slider buns homemade or store-bought
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon roasted white sesame seeds
  • to taste fresh lettuce
  • to taste cherry tomatoes, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 356°F (180°C).
  2. Marinate the ground beef with salt, ground black pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl. Add the diced white onion and mix well.
  3. Transfer the beef to a baking pan and press gently into an even layer. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes until well done, then drain off the fat.
  4. Divide the beef into 9 equal squares and set aside.
  5. Slice the slider buns in half lengthwise and place the bottom halves on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Arrange the cooked beef and cheddar cheese slices on the bottom buns, then top with the other half of the buns.
  7. Brush the tops of the buns with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  8. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from the oven and add lettuce and tomato slices on top. Serve immediately.
