Easy Shrimp Salad

Ingredients

The salad

  • 1 pound raw shell on shrimp (26-30 size)
  • 2 stalks celery (small dice)
  • cup mayonnaise
  • 1-2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

For cooking

  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning (for boiling water)

Instructions

  1. Thaw the shrimp in cold running water.
  2. Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan and add 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning.
  3. Add the thawed shrimp to the boiling water and cook until the water returns to a boil, no longer than 5-6 minutes.
  4. Drain the water and cover the shrimp with ice. Let them cool for 15 minutes, then refrigerate for one hour.
  5. Peel and devein the shrimp, then rough chop them into large pieces.
  6. In a medium-sized bowl, mix all the ingredients together well, cover, and refrigerate for at least one hour.
  7. Serve with your favorite bread, on a salad, or by itself.
