Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9x13-inch cake pan.
- In a mixer, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, instant espresso, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Add eggs, buttermilk, warm water, olive oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 35 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then invert onto a cooling rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat butter and powdered sugar until fluffy, then add melted chocolate, sour cream, and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and decorate as desired.
