Ingredients

The meatballs

  • ½ lb ground beef (85/15)
  • ½ lb Italian sausage
  • 1 large egg, slightly beaten
  • ½ cup plain breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

The sauce and pasta

  • 1 26 oz jar marinara sauce
  • 12 oz spaghetti

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground beef, Italian sausage, beaten egg, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a ball.
  3. Place the meatballs in the slow cooker and pour marinara sauce over them, ensuring they are coated.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6-7 hours, checking that the internal temperature reaches at least 160ºF.
  5. Near the end of the cooking time, cook the spaghetti according to package directions and drain.
  6. Remove the meatballs from the slow cooker, add the cooked spaghetti to the sauce, and toss to coat.
  7. Serve the sauced spaghetti on plates with a giant meatball on top.
