Ingredients

The meatballs

  • pounds ground beef
  • ¾ cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ cup minced onion
  • 1 large egg
  • cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • cooking spray

The sauce

  • 28 ounces jar marinara sauce
  • 16 ounces can crushed tomatoes
  • 15 ounces can tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler and prepare a baking sheet with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic, onion, egg, parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well, adding water if necessary.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Broil the meatballs for 8-10 minutes until browned.
  5. Transfer the meatballs to the slow cooker and add marinara sauce, crushed tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Stir gently.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 3-4 hours.
  7. Serve topped with parsley and additional parmesan cheese.
