Ingredients

The Hens

  • 2 units Cornish hens

The Broth and Oil

  • 1 cup broth
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

The Spice Blends

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground thyme
  • ½ teaspoon ground rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • ½ tablespoon Creole seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (for Creole blend)
  • 2-3 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 2-3 sprigs fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Pour broth into the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Pat the Cornish hens dry and rub them with olive oil and spices on both sides.
  3. Place the seasoned Cornish hens over the broth.
  4. Cover and cook on High for 3-4 hours or on Low for 6-7 hours until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. Let the hens cool for 20-30 minutes before serving.
