Air Fryer Falafel

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dried chickpeas
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup fresh parsley leaves
  • ¾ cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • ½ cup fresh dill
  • 1 small onion
  • 7-8 cloves garlic
  • to taste salt
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Soak the chickpeas in water with baking soda for 24 hours.
  2. Drain and blend the soaked chickpeas with herbs, onion, garlic, and spices until finely ground.
  3. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 1 hour.
  4. Add baking powder and sesame seeds to the mixture and stir.
  5. Form the mixture into patties.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F and lightly brush the patties with olive oil.
  7. Air fry the patties for 5 minutes on one side, check for color, then flip and cook until golden brown.
