Ingredients

The cake

  • ¾ cup light brown sugar

  • 2 ripe bananas peeled and mashed
  • cups buttermilk

The glaze

  • cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • to taste pinch flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Cream the butter and sugars, then add eggs, vanilla, and mashed bananas.
  4. Incorporate the dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately into the batter.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 50-55 minutes.
  6. Prepare the glaze by whisking powdered sugar, buttermilk, vanilla, and salt.
  7. Once the cake is cooled, glaze it and sprinkle with sea salt and cardamom.
