Bacon Wrapped Chicken with Brown Sugar Crust

Ingredients

The chicken

  • 4 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • salt and pepper to taste seasoning

The bacon and sugar

  • 8 slices bacon, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup brown sugar or coconut sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Mix garlic powder, paprika, and salt in a small bowl and sprinkle it on both sides of each chicken breast.
  3. Wrap each chicken breast in two slices of bacon, starting at one end and wrapping to the other.
  4. Place the wrapped chicken breasts seam-side down in a baking dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar over the chicken breasts and return to the oven for another 5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 157-159°F.
  7. Baste the chicken with drippings and broil for 2-3 minutes, being careful not to overcook.
  8. Remove from the oven and serve.
