Ingredients

The filling

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 ½ lb Ground beef
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup Whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • ¾ tsp Sea salt (to taste)
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper (to taste)

The peppers

  • 6 large Bell peppers

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cook minced garlic until fragrant.
  2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, then season with salt and pepper. Simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 375°F (191°C).
  5. Prepare the bell peppers by cutting off the tops and removing seeds and ribs.
  6. Stuff each pepper with layers of meat sauce, ricotta, and mozzarella, finishing with mozzarella on top.
  7. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted and browned.
