Ingredients

The burger mixture

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 15oz cans black beans, drained and rinsed
  • ½ small yellow onion, cut into big chunks
  • ½ medium green pepper, deseeded and cut into big chunks
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

For cooking

  • 2 tbsp avocado oil

Instructions

  1. Blend the oats in a food processor until fine.
  2. Add half of the black beans, onion, pepper, and garlic to the processor and pulse until just combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into a bowl and add the remaining black beans, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir gently until well combined and let sit for 10 minutes to thicken.
  5. Form the mixture into 6-8 patties.
  6. Heat the avocado oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  7. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  8. Serve immediately.
