Instructions
- Peel and chop the red potatoes into even pieces and add them to a large pot with the garlic.
- Cover the potatoes and garlic with water, then add the bay leaves and salt.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes until the potatoes are fork-tender.
- Drain the potatoes and discard the bay leaves.
- Use a potato masher to mash the potatoes and garlic to your desired consistency.
- Stir in the remaining salt and pepper.
- Add the butter and mash until fully incorporated.
- Gradually stir in the milk, ¼ cup at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.
