Ingredients

The dough

  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon Blackstrap Molasses
  • ¾ cup flour

  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

The mix-ins

  • ¾ cup dried cherries
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, oats, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, egg, and molasses until smooth.
  4. Combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients and stir until well mixed.
  5. Fold in the dried cherries, walnuts, and chocolate chips.
  6. Portion the dough into ⅓ cup balls and roll them to form round cookies.
  7. Place 4 cookies on each tray, ensuring they are spaced out.
  8. Bake the cookies for 15 minutes, then lightly press down and bake for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool before storing them in an airtight container.
