Ingredients

The dough

  • ¾ cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

Coating

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add confectioners' sugar and mix until combined and creamy.
  3. Incorporate vanilla extract, then gradually add flour and salt until the dough comes together.
  4. If using, mix in chopped pecans.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare baking sheets.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
  8. Bake the cookies until golden brown on the edges, about 15 minutes.
  9. Cool the cookies for 5 minutes, then roll them in confectioners' sugar.
  10. Once cooled, roll them in confectioners' sugar again for a snowy finish.
