Instructions
- Heat the coconut oil in a large pot over medium-high heat.
- Add the diced onions and cook until soft and translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef, breaking it up, and cook until browned.
- In a small bowl, mix the allspice, oregano, chili powder, chipotle chili powder, cumin, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Add the spice mixture to the pot along with a few dashes of cinnamon and the tomato paste.
- Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Add the fire-roasted tomatoes, beef broth, water, and diced sweet potato, and stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer uncovered for at least an hour.
