Dry Rub Baked Chicken

Ingredients

The chicken

  • 2 lbs chicken drumsticks

The rub and seasoning

  • 2-3 tablespoons meat dry rub
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the chicken drumsticks under cold water, then drain and pat dry.
  3. Rub the dry rub generously onto the skin and meat of the drumsticks.
  4. Transfer the chicken to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake.
  5. At the 20-minute mark, brush the chicken with olive oil and turn it over.
  6. Bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Check the doneness by cutting a slit through the meat; bake for an additional 5-10 minutes if necessary.
  8. Serve the chicken with BBQ sauce.
