Ingredients

  • 32 g whole coffee beans
  • 500 ml filtered water

Instructions

  1. Measure 1g of coffee per 16ml of water, using 32g of coffee and 500ml of water for a pot.
  2. Grind the coffee beans to a consistency similar to fine sea salt.
  3. Boil the filtered water, adding a bit more to wet the filter.
  4. Unfold the paper filter and place it in the Chemex, wetting it with hot water to eliminate paper taste.
  5. Add the coffee grounds to the filter and shake gently to settle.
  6. Pour just enough water over the grounds to cover them (~66ml) and let bloom for 45 seconds.
  7. Slowly pour the remaining hot water over the coffee in small circles, focusing on the inner circle.
  8. Complete the pour within 3.5 minutes and enjoy your brewed coffee.
