Ingredients

The base

  • 2 cups rolled old fashioned oats
  • cups crispy rice cereal
  • ¼ cup wheat germ

The binding mixture

  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup light brown sugar

The topping

  • ½ cup candy coated chocolate chips

For preparation

  • to taste cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Line a 9-inch square pan with parchment paper and coat it with cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the oats, rice cereal, and wheat germ.
  3. In a pot over medium heat, combine the corn syrup, peanut butter, and brown sugar, cooking until the peanut butter melts.
  4. Pour the peanut butter mixture into the oat mixture and stir until well combined.
  5. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared pan and gently press the chocolate chips into the top.
  6. Chill for 60 minutes until firm, then cut into 12 pieces and serve.
