Ingredients

The pasta

  • 4 cups whole-wheat pasta

The meat

  • 1 pound sausage or ground beef

The cheese and vegetables

  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • 1 can diced tomatoes

The seasonings

  • 1 teaspoon oregano (optional, if using ground beef)
  • to taste salt (if using ground beef)

Instructions

  1. 1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions and drain.
  2. 2. While the pasta is cooking, brown the meat in a separate pan and drain excess fat.
  3. 3. Mix the spinach into the cooked meat until it wilts.
  4. 4. Stir in the mozzarella cheese until melted.
  5. 5. Combine the cooked pasta with the meat and spinach mixture.
  6. 6. Add the diced tomatoes and mix well.
