Easiest Valentine Cookies

The cookie dough

The icing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Cream together the powdered sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, almond extract, and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
- Sift together the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar, then add to the sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
- Divide the dough into two discs, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Roll out the chilled dough to ⅛ to ¼ inch thick and cut into desired shapes.
- Place cookies on a lightly greased or silpat-covered cookie sheet and bake for 7-8 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and cool on the cookie sheet before frosting with icing.
