Instructions
- Place the pork roast in a slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chicken broth and tomato paste to the seasoning mixture and whisk until blended.
- Pour the mixture over the pork roast in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low heat for 7 to 8 hours.
- Remove the roast, discard excess fat, and shred the pork.
- Ladle out some fat from the broth and return the shredded pork to the slow cooker.
- Allow the pork to rest on warm heat for 1 to 3 hours before serving.
