Ingredients

The squash

  • 1 spaghetti squash

Optional seasonings

  • to taste olive oil
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the spaghetti squash in half crosswise using a sharp knife.
  3. Scoop out the seeds from the squash and discard them.
  4. Drizzle olive oil, salt, and pepper on the cut sides of the squash if desired.
  5. Place the squash cut side down on the baking sheet and roast for 25-35 minutes.
  6. Remove the squash from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
  7. Using a fork, scrape the flesh from the shell to create long, spaghetti-like strands.
