Twix Thumbprint Cookies

The cookie dough

The filling and topping

milk chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

Instructions
- 1. Whisk together flour and salt in a mixing bowl.
- 2. Cream together butter and sugar in an electric mixer until well combined.
- 3. Mix in egg yolks and vanilla extract, then slowly add in the flour mixture until just combined.
- 4. Scoop dough into 1 Tbsp balls and make an indentation in the center with your thumb.
- 5. Chill the cookies in the refrigerator for 45-60 minutes.
- 6. Preheat the oven to 350°F halfway through chilling.
- 7. Bake cookies for 14-15 minutes until set, then re-indent the centers and cool on a wire rack.
- 8. Melt caramels with cream in the microwave until smooth and fill the centers of the cookies.
- 9. Melt chocolate chips and drizzle over the cookies, then sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
- 10. Allow chocolate to set before storing in an airtight container.
