Drop Style Christmas Sugar Cookies

Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter and granulated sugar until creamed, then add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and mix until just combined, then fold in the sprinkles.
- Scoop the dough into balls and optionally dip the tops in more sprinkles.
- Chill the dough balls in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare baking sheets.
- Arrange the chilled dough balls on the baking sheets and bake for 12-13 minutes until lightly browned.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
