Ingredients

The cookie dough

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

The toppings

  • ½ cup sprinkles
  • more sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl and set aside.
  2. In another bowl, beat the butter and sugar until creamy, then add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and mix until combined, then fold in the sprinkles.
  4. Scoop the dough into balls and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Place the chilled dough balls on the baking sheets and bake for 12-13 minutes until lightly browned.
  7. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
