Steakhouse Creamed Spinach

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp Unsalted Butter or Olive oil
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced Shallot
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • ½ cup Half & Half
  • 6 oz Fresh Baby Spinach
  • 1 tbsp Whipped Cream Cheese
  • 3 tbsp Grated Parmesan
  • to taste Salt + Pepper
  • 1 tsp fresh Lemon Juice

Instructions

  1. Remove thick stems from spinach and roughly chop the leaves.
  2. Melt butter or olive oil in a sauté pan over medium heat.
  3. Add shallots and a pinch of salt, cooking until translucent.
  4. Stir in garlic and nutmeg, cooking for about 30 seconds.
  5. Add half and half and cook until slightly thickened.
  6. Incorporate chopped spinach gradually, stirring until mixed in.
  7. Add whipped cream cheese and parmesan, then remove from heat.
  8. Season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice, then serve warm.
