Ingredients

The chicken

  • 2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil

The sauce

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ½ cup honey
  • cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup rice wine vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • 1 zest orange
  • a pinch crushed red pepper flakes

Toppings

  • thinly-sliced green onions
  • toasted sesame seeds
  • orange zest

Optional Quinoa

  • 1 cup dry quinoa
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat and sauté the chicken for 4-6 minutes until browned and nearly cooked through.
  3. Whisk together all the sauce ingredients until combined.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken, stir, and let it boil for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  5. Serve immediately over quinoa or rice, garnished with green onions, sesame seeds, and additional orange zest.
