Cranberry Banana Bread

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a loaf pan.
- In a saucepan, combine cranberries, 1 cup of sugar, and water. Heat for 5 minutes, then let sit for another 5 minutes before draining.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together shortening and butter, then gradually add remaining sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the mashed banana.
- Fold in the cranberries and nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 60-65 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
