Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Prepare the apples by trimming the bottom if needed, coring them, and peeling the top edge.
- Chop the pecans and almonds, then mix with shredded coconut, maple sugar, salt, cinnamon, and cardamom.
- Add melted ghee or coconut oil to the filling mixture and combine well.
- Stuff the apples with the filling and place them in a baking dish.
- Pour orange juice into the bottom of the dish.
- Bake the apples for 40 to 50 minutes until tender and golden brown.
- Serve warm, topped with orange juice from the baking dish and optional ice cream or whipped cream.
