Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 13 by 9-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients for 30 seconds and make a well in the center.
- In a separate bowl, beat together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until pale and fluffy.
- Mix in the applesauce, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Pour the wet mixture into the well of the dry ingredients and gently fold until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and level it out.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cake on a wire rack.
- For the frosting, blend the cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.
- Spread the frosting over the cooled cake and slice to serve.
