Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan, lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the applesauce, sugar, avocado oil, almond milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and apple cider vinegar.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, almond flour, apple pie spice, baking powder, sea salt, and baking soda.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and stir until just mixed, then fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 32 to 39 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Top with cream cheese frosting if desired, and enjoy.
