Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F and prepare two 8-inch cake pans.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vinegar, butter, sugar, and applesauce until combined.
- Let the wet mixture sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until mixed well.
- Distribute the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking with a skewer for doneness.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Once cooled, layer the cakes with frosting if desired.
